Cagliari

A city with a 3,000-year history
Cagliari, capital of the province and the region, is located in the beautiful Golfo degli Angeli (Gulf of Angels); Just like Rome, the city stands on seven hills, which have created as many historic districts. Its Sardinian campidanese name Casteddu means castle (castello) and points to the elevated part of the city, the ancient founding rock. Despite the loss of many municipalities in the division of the new parts of the country in 2005, the province of Cagliari is the most populated in the whole of Sardinia.
Cagliari is located in the south of the island and is a perfect starting point or end of a sarin ice voyage. It can be reached city by plane or ferry.
