Morcote in lockdown
The following recording was taken on Easter Sunday, at noon. Since people’s memory, Easter Sunday in Morcote is full of people, activities and emotions, from the region, from German-speaking Switzerland, but also from abroad. And this year, everything is just different.
As a German-speaking Swiss, it is difficult to understand the Ticino colleagues. The southern neighbours are very close to Lombardy. Therefore, the wording and measures were chosen differently by the government. This gave rise to caution, perhaps even a fear of the virus. In April, the Ticino people were at home, did not meet up with friends and adhered very strictly to the regulations of the authorities.
We respected this and enjoyed the peace, nature and freedom to simply enjoy.
