White wine harvest 2022
Excited, and with much anticipation we awaited them, the first white grapes. Thanks to the sunny, dry summer, the young vines have developed well, have grown strongly and have given us a nice surprise at the end.
On September 12, 2022 , the first white wine harvest took place on Sa Contissa. Everything was prepared, the boxes washed, the team complete and the weather excellent.
16 months ago we planted the 4 white wine varieties Vermentino, Malvasia, Sauvignon blanc and Viognier. The young grapes need a few years until they bring proper yield. Therefore, we did not expect too many grapes in the first year. But the Vermentino surprised us very positively. From him alone we could harvest about 350 l, a good quality with a lot of sugar (20 Babo).
In the meantime, the Maserazione has taken place and the wine is in steel tanks. Monthly we check the wine together with the cellar master and the Oenolgen. In spring it is ready, put in the bottle and then in Switzerland.
